Tracing the faded time of those who once turned the pages of Chŏng Yagyong(1762-1836)’s Chil Shil Gwan Hwa Seol (On Viewing Paintings from the Dark Chamber). In a dark room of their own, they steep tea, mend fragments with thread, and enfold them in bojagi cloth—crafting a cinema that was unseen.
정약용의 칠실관화설(漆室觀火說-깜깜한 방에서 그림 보는 이야기)을 읽었을 이들의 지나간 시간을 더듬는다.
자기만의 어두운 방에서 차를 우려내고, 바느질로 잇고, 보자기에 감싸 만들어낸, 잊혀진 영화 한편을 상상한다.
