Neolttwigi 널뛰기

Neolttwigi is similar to a seesaw, except that participants stand at either end of the board and jump. Unlike a seesaw, which allows for stable, seated play, neolttwigi relies on the alternating force of two people standing on either end of a long plank, balanced on a central straw bundle or mat. The two must coordinate their movements perfectly. To let the other soar into the air, the woman opposite lowers her body and pushes the plank with full force. The roles then immediately reverse: the one who had soared descends, while the one below rises into the air. This cycle repeats continuously. Sometimes a third person stands in the center, helping maintain balance, singing in rhythm with the two jumpers. The camera in this film, Neolttwigi, is both the plank itself and the third woman singing in the middle.
앉아서 안정적으로 탈 수 있는 시소와 달리, 널뛰기는 커다란 널빤지 중앙에 받친 짚단이나 멍석을 축으로 삼아 양쪽에 올라선 두 사람이 번갈아 발을 구르는 힘으로 움직인다. 그러므로 두 사람의 호흡이 매우 잘 맞아야 한다. 한 여인이 하늘 높이 올라 담장 밖을 보기 위해서는 반대편에 선 여인이 자세를 낮추고 널을 힘껏 밟는다. 곧바로 역할이 바뀌고, 높이 올라간 이는 다시 아래로 내려오며, 아래에 있던 이는 하늘 높이 뛴다. 그리고 다시 역할을 바꾸어 반복한다. 널 중앙에는 세 번째 사람이 올라타 두 사람을 위해 중심을 잡아주기도 했는데, 이 사람은 두 사람이 널을 뛰는 박자에 맞춰 노래를 불렀다. < 널뛰기 >의 카메라는 널이기도 하고, 가운데에서 노래를 부르는 세 번째 여인이기도 하다.
